Camping dei Fiori: ideal for a family holiday on the Ligurian Riviera

Camping dei Fiori is a great base for a beach holiday combining relaxation, outdoor activities and exploring the Ligurian Riviera.

• The campsite is located in an old olive grove, about 600 metres from the beach and less than a kilometre from the historic centre of Pietra Ligure.
• The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly, with easy access to beaches with a gently sloping sea, also suitable for younger children.
• Due to its location, you can easily visit Finale Ligure, Loano, Borgio Verezzi and the villages inland from the Ligurian coast.
• The campsite is clearly designed with families in mind. Comfort, cleanliness and the entertainment programme fit in well with the holiday feeling.
• It is also a good base for hiking and mountain biking in a region that is well known for its outdoor activities.

We stayed at Camping dei Fiori in July with our three children aged 4, 8 and 12. We chose an Alloro mobile home for 5 people. It was spacious, very clean, air-conditioned and had a covered terrace where we often ate outside.

We soon realised that the campsite was exactly what we were looking for: peace and quiet, nature and proximity to the sea.

The mornings always started off nice and quiet. We often walked to the beach at Pietra Ligure, about 600 metres away. The walk was easy, even with children. On the way back, we used the campsite's free shuttle service (at 12:30 or 18:30).

On other days, we decided to stay at the campsite to enjoy the swimming pool.

The swimming pool with spray park was one of the highlights for the children. They could play to their hearts' content while we made use of the sun loungers, either in the sun or in the shade.

The entertainment programme took place in the afternoon and evening. There were activities such as aqua gym, yoga and pilates for adults, creative workshops for the children and, above all, the mini safari with electric Land Rovers, which were especially popular with our youngest.

In the evening, the campsite really came to life around the restaurant and swimming pool, the meeting place for families. We saw circus performances, magic shows and baby dance.

But the most special moment was the weekly Silent Disco. Although it seemed quiet, adults and children danced and sang to their own music. It was surreal and created a fun and relaxed atmosphere, with many participants.

The campsite restaurant proved invaluable after an active day. It offered Italian cuisine, a children's menu and a takeaway service. In the evening, pizza was often the easy choice, while during the day the restaurant was ideal for a lunch break.

A perfect destination for outdoor activities.

This part of Liguria offers many opportunities for outdoor sports.

As a lover of sports, I spent half a day mountain biking in the area around Finale Ligure, which is well known in the mountain biking world. Starting from the Outdoor Base, about 1 km from the campsite, there is a route that takes you along the trails of the Le Manie area, with spectacular views of the sea and nice places to rest along the way. An intense and unforgettable experience.

On another day, we opted for an activity for the whole family: the panoramic walking route at Borgio Verezzi, which is suitable for children. We walked through Mediterranean vegetation, past olive trees and vineyards, with beautiful views of the sea. After the climb to the historic village of Verezzi, the route took us past caves and rock formations, after which we returned via ancient paths at sunset.

From Loano, we went on a sailing excursion on the open sea, in the Santuario dei Pelagos, an internationally protected marine area in the Mediterranean Sea, where we hoped to spot dolphins and whales. The excursion lasted about 4 hours and the moment we saw dolphins swimming in their natural environment was one of the highlights of our holiday.

During our holiday, we also visited:

• Pietra Ligure - perfect for an evening stroll and an ice cream.
• Finalborgo - a well-preserved medieval village.
• Alassio - with the Budello and the sandy beach.

Camping dei Fiori offers:

• Well-maintained outdoor areas and quiet spots; from the upper part of the campsite, you can enjoy a view of the sea.

• Evening activities: live music, karaoke and shows by the swimming pool.
• A small self-service area for bike maintenance and cleaning.

Our stay at Camping dei Fiori provided a wonderful combination of sea, relaxation and activities.

It is a quiet campsite, surrounded by nature but conveniently located for exploring   Liguria. The variety of villages, outdoor activities, beaches and the programme offered by the entertainment team meant we had an active holiday without it being rushed or tiring.

The stay was exactly what we were looking for: active, but with enough quiet moments and suitable for a family with children of different ages.
