Our summer family vacation in Italy with our kids aged 5 and 11

Eurocamping Calvisio offered us advantages that perfectly matched our needs, which is why we chose to return:

In August, we returned to Eurocamping Calvisio, this time with our two children (aged 5 and 11). After our first stay during Easter in the spring, picking our summer vacation destination and campsite was an easy decision. Sure enough, as soon as we arrived, that sense of familiarity washed over us again. Lush greenery, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place where family vacations are simply effortless. Its location in the Calvisio Valley, just minutes from Finale Ligure and the sea, is ideal: enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and still unwind at any time of day or night.

This time, we booked a bungalow with a terrace and air conditioning—perfect for the four of us. We also chose the half-board option, which made our daily routine completely seamless. The wristband system was another super convenient feature, allowing us to access facilities and pay for everything around the campsite without any hassle. Especially with kids, this makes everything so much more relaxed since you don't have to worry about cash, cards, or carrying things around.

Our days at the campsite started slowly—there was no other way: a cappuccino at the restaurant paired with freshly baked focaccia. Afterward, we’d spontaneously decide what we felt like doing: spending a few hours by the pool, heading down to the sea, or setting off to explore the countryside.

The campsite is located about a kilometer from the sea in Finale Ligure, but we usually took the shuttle bus down to the campsite’s private beach in Varigotti, about 4 km away. The campsite has its own beach club, which includes a restaurant. Thanks to our half-board plan, we could even have lunch right on the beach, which was particularly nice on warmer days and made life so much easier for the whole family.

At the campsite, the pool area remained the focal point of our days. On one side, there was the large semi-Olympic pool hosting aqua gym classes in the morning and group dancing sessions in the afternoon. On the other, a smaller pool with hydromassage, perfect for relaxing while the kids played in the water.

The campsite's entertainment program is low-key and never intrusive, perfectly tailored to the family-friendly vibe of the place. Nicoletta and her team organized numerous activities centered around a season-long theme: The Neverending Story. This overarching narrative inspired the games, workshops, and evening performances.

Among the highlights, we particularly enjoyed the Holy Colors event, where the kids tossed organic colored powders on the sports field. There were also themed nights, such as the pool party complete with music and light shows, and Just Dance-style dance nights.

Another memorable evening was spent at the pop-up amusement park set up inside the campsite, featuring a Ferris wheel, carnival games, and even a mechanical bull. Our son won a voucher for a pizza and was so proud of himself.

An unforgettable experience at the equestrian center

One afternoon, we decided to try something different by visiting the Azienda Agricola at the Village of GiuEle, located just three minutes from the campsite. While we enjoyed a tasting of local products, our youngest son had his very first pony ride at the equestrian center. Ilaria guided him with immense patience and quickly earned his trust. Meanwhile, our older son got to ride a larger horse for a trail ride. It was a deeply moving experience for the entire family.

Eurocamping Calvisio sits right at the heart of one of Europe’s most famous outdoor activity regions.

One of our favorite hiking trails was the Roman Bridges Trail. It’s an easy route lasting about two hours, ideal for doing with kids. The trail wanders through the woods and passes several ancient stone bridges, making for a lovely, shaded walk.

On another day, we reached the Falsari Cave via a scenic trail overlooking the sea. This grand natural cavity carved into the rock never fails to amaze children. An easy yet breathtaking excursion.

The campsite offers numerous facilities and services that made our stay completely seamless:

Our stay at Eurocamping Calvisio was a perfect balance of nature, sports activities, well-thought-out entertainment, and cherished family moments.

Between beach days, afternoons by the pool, hikes through the Ligurian hills, and evening entertainment, every single day brought something new to discover. More than just a vacation spot, the campsite is a true launchpad for exploring one of Liguria's richest and most dynamic regions.

It's a place where kids go on adventures, parents truly relax, and a warm sense of togetherness comes naturally.
