Poor quality 'premium pitchss'
Review of the campsite
The swimming pools and slides are nice and the restaurant is good value with decent food. The on site shop during the last two weeks does not restock so food is difficult. The indoor swimming pool is also nice and heated. The zip lines are €20 per person which is expensive I feel. The restaurant in the local village was excellent
The shower and toilet facilities on the premium pitches are anything but premium and poorly maintained. They are beginning to rot and smell as such the decking is also not cleaned so very slippery when wet and the out door lighting was removed as we complained it wasn't working. We paid over €1000 and it was not worth it the pitch was really unlevel (259) and overall I felt there was a lack of value for money for what we paid.

Our 5th stay in 20 years. The site is very ‘natural’ with a lovely modern toilet / wash block.
Some areas are looking tired and in need of upgrade, refresh or replacement.

Disappointed - the site was packing up for the season end
Review of the campsite
Facilities good if they had all been available, but our stay coincided with the last week of opening and some activities were closed, other curtailed as to days / hours available. The shop which the website says is so well stocked was very limited in fresh produce. Bar not opening until mid day. Kids club only until Thursday. Pitches are a good size but ours had significant mole activity meaning muddy lumps everywhere. Main pool very cold, small number of sun beds. Lake very good. The last night was significantly impacted by the staff partying with loud music until 3 am
If the site is advertised as open then ensure all facilities are available and dont make guests feel that you are clearing up and cant wait for them to leave to do so. Had all facilities been available all week rating would have been higher. Suggest you dont stay in the last week before they close ( which this year was 29th August - very early)
About this campsite
Castel Camping Parc de Fierbois
*****
5-star campsite in the Loire Valley, with heated pool and animations, Castel Parc de Fierbois offers mobile homes, chalets, tree houses and camping pitches.
Endless woods and five-star family moments: Our stay at parc de fierbois
Key highlights of our stay at Parc de Fierbois
A campsite immersed in nature, with wide-open spaces, wild forest areas, and a true sense of freedom and calm.
A strong focus on everyone's satisfaction and well-being.
Activities for children of all styles (nature-focused, swimming pool with waterslides…).
A wonderfully located campsite to easily explore the region: hiking or cycling trails, a trip to Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, and an excursion to Zoo Parc de Beauval…
An ideal place to enjoy quality time as a family while still keeping personal moments for everyone.
Creative kids and outdoor learning deep in the heart of nature
Right from our arrival, we were thoroughly impressed by our accommodation, nestled in the middle of a forest of oak and hornbeam trees. There is an immense amount of space everywhere, including entirely untouched, accessible forest corners left completely in their natural state rather than being commercially exploited. You genuinely get the feeling that the campsite has no boundaries, melting effortlessly into the surrounding nature. Having so much space, fresh air, and absolute quiet made our family stay incredibly relaxing.
Out in the woods, our children had the chance to build tree cabins. Thanks to the animation team, they discovered something they had never imagined before: that they could create their own shelters using only what they found in nature.
The kids also learned how to build small insect hotels through a highly pedagogical approach that taught them the vital importance of bugs in the ecosystem. It was both playful and educational. To top it off, we noticed there were very few mosquitoes around, which made our outdoor family time even more pleasant.
Freedom, wellness, and lakeside fitness
While the children were busy, we enjoyed plenty of freedom and true moments just for ourselves. We spent quiet mornings reading in total tranquility or joining the morning yoga classes with the instructor, Christine, to start the day off on the right foot. We also took advantage of the beautiful setting for walks and bike rides, renting bicycles directly on-site. On Friday, we took an 8-kilometer cycling trip to the village of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, which timed perfectly with their local market day. We made sure to buy the famous local cheese named after the village—Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine—as well as some traditional Rillettes de Tours. To complement these active moments, we also went for a few jogs around the lake, enjoying a calm, green backdrop that was perfect for recharging our batteries.
High-flying adventures and water fun
Directly within the campsite, we took our eldest child (our youngest was still too little) to tackle the "adult" treetop adventure course (accrobranche). The course starts right from the center of the campsite and features about five ziplines that cut through the woods and fly directly over the lake. It was a fun and sporty activity that created beautiful family memories.
Our late afternoons were frequently spent on the lake itself. Sometimes we rented paddleboards or canoes, and other times we stayed until nightfall playing on the giant water inflatables. On top of that, the kids absolutely adored the campsite's aquatic park, where they would happily spend hours playing. These were beautiful moments where we all played together, mingling with other children and families, often capping off the day with an aperitif on the bar terrace to stretch out the evening.
A magical finale at Beauval Zoo
Before heading home, we all spent a day together at Zoo Parc de Beauval, which is just about a 45-minute drive away. We had the chance to see and admire the pandas, leaving our children completely wide-eyed and amazed. It was a spectacular highlight that perfectly closed out our holiday.
In short, our children completely forgot about their phones, and we were able to share the kind of genuine, simple family moments you always look for during holidays. To experience all of this in a setting with a quality of service worthy of a true 5-star campsite was amply deserved.

The woodland setting was nice
Very unlevel pitches, lighting for the toilet wasn't working and they wouldn't fix it, decks were slippery when wet, the shower and toilet was very outdated and poor quality. Very over priced for the standard of accommodation.

All pitches are a great size. The shed is very useful and having the fridge/ freezer is great.
The fridge freezer needs renewing. It was rusty and the legs fell off meaning it fell forward when you opened the door. The drain next to the pitch gave off an unpleasant smell.
Note: you ask below about sorting our recycling. We did, but there was no place for cardboard / plastic separation - only general waste bins and glass.
I wrote an email to you about the noisy group on the last night but have not had a response.
The pool surround (white plastic) needs a good clean or replacement.
The indoor pool needs monitoring as there were people bringing large inflatables and misbehaving.

Good site but a few disappointments
Review of the campsite
Easy site with big camping pitches. Lots to do when all open. Very clean shower blocks and pool great (when warm)
Lake is disgustingly and no lifeguard. Site is not “pretty”. Restaurant distinctly average. The paddle boards were not on the week we were there and there was no prior information about this.
I hate the arcade. It’s just a draw to kids when it’s not needed. The bar often had long queues and drink choices were poor.

Accommodation review - Pitch Premium with individual toilet block - Electricity 16 A - Water - Drainage point -
Good sized pitch with good shade. Nice shower/toilet and sink/fridge area.
In other Le Castles sites with premium pitch you get a table & chairs & sun shade and a cooking area. The BBQ (not allowed due to bans) was stone for charcoal not gas.

Great campsite for families
Review of the campsite
The lac and activities on the lake. The accrobranche. The amenities of the premium chalets. The quiet
Not as many entertainment or clubs or activities as in peak season despite it still being August. We arrived on 19 August and most chalets were empty and the campsite had a real feel of end of season with some activities not being on the calendar anymore and the paddle board on the lake closing on the Sunday. Maintenance teams starting to empty the chalets.
Establishment response

Pleasant stay
Review of the campsite
All staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool looks good but it was too crowded for us to use (it is a fair size but is smaller than it looks on the website) - we used the lake instead which was nice. There is lots for families to do here, and we found nice walks through the woodland. The parc should do more with this feature, perhaps create more cycle friendly routes around the woodland. The parc has a business room where you can remote work for free. This is a good feature that more campsites should adopt. It would be good if more was done (shop and Restaurant) for gluten free needs.
The site is very remote and there are virtually no transport links - a car is really needed to get around. We used a taxi once but was ripped off.
We stayed at a Premium pitch with sanitary block. The pitch was large and felt reasonably private. We liked the sanitary block with the large fridge freezer.
The sanitary block needs some maintenance and upkeep (loose floor boards for example). The electricity failed one evening and caused the freezer to defrost but the staff fixed the issue reasonably quickly. The pitches are large but some of the access is a little tight for large vehicles. It would be an improvement if some of the hedges/trees were cut back a little to widen the corners on the access roads. The premium pitches are expensive.

Nice place
Review of the campsite
Place was clean and well maintained, pool was lovely and lots to do.
Wi-Fi is patchy and we had none at our pitch despite complaining for 10 of our 14 days.
Golf is dated and on a massive slant with broken edges. Needs more sun beds and drinks hugely over priced.
Water on pitch was cloudy and undrinkable.
Establishment response

Brilliant!
Review of the campsite
We stay at Parc de Feirbois to break up out longer journey further south! It was brilliant, our two daughter thoroughly enjoyed all the park had to offer, from evening entrainment, to swimming in the lake.! So much included with the stay! Our night away in the tree cabins was just perfect and hoisting up breakfast just the pinical of our stay! Would highly recommend anyone to experience it, we'd definitely return for longer or use again for an overnight stop.
To be overly critical the bedding in the cabins could be more comfortable.

Busy site with plenty to do
Review of the campsite
There were a wide range of activities for the family to enjoy-just make sure you look at the timetable as not always available. Staff were all brilliant, always seemed so helpful. The shop was well stocked, we especially enjoyed the fresh pastries.
Sanitary blocks were fantastic, well cleaned and felt luxurious compared to come campsite toilet blocks!
The evening entertainment was so so noisy at night, our caravan even vibrating from the base, not finishing until 11pm. So whilst great if you want to enjoy it, not great if you have young children that needed their sleep.
The pool areas were great, yet in need of TLC, with lots of cracks and broken tiles/floor etc, and quite grubby looking for what you would expect for a 5*
Establishment response
Hello Madam,
Thank you for your positive feedback! We have taken note of your comments to improve.
Regarding the cracks in the paving of the Water Park, it was completely renovated in the spring of 2025. Unfortunately, the drought caused ground movement that damaged this beautiful structure just before the season! We therefore have to redo everything for next season...
Accommodation review - Grand Confort Pitch - Electricity 16 A - Water - Drainage point -
Fantastic, large pitches we were really impressed and pleased with the size and the shade. Especially needed in the heatwave!
We would have rather the ability to request a pitch further from the entertainment, as the 11pm finishes were really draining on our children who just wanted sleep. But we understand this may not be possible.

Our stay at Firebois
Review of the campsite
The size of the pool was great and my boys loved the slide, but the cold water meant they were freezing after 10 minutes which was a real shame. The lake is excellent along with the space for boules and table tennis. Lovely big pitch and the fridge inside the shed was excellent. The toilet and shower facilities were also excellent.
It was so loud at night......11pm for quiet is too late when you have small children, whi every so often need to go to bed slightly earlier. The music from the entertainment was ridiculously loud and completely changed the atmosphere when we were sitting out playing cards. I felt like we were at a nightclub and not at a lovely campsite in nature. This was a real dissapointment for us having stayed in 3 other campsites just before our stay, this was by far the noisiest. There was no one enforcing the quiet rule after 11, or signs anywhere.

Everything you need is on tje campside. Also very nice employees. We had booked a stay with our folding tent, but due to the weather conditions, we wanted to change to an airconditioned caravan. That was no problem en was arranged just hours before we arrived.
The only thing i can think of (due to temperature) is more shadow places near the swiming pool.

Merci pour votre avis positif.
Nous prenons votre point concernant les espaces entourant la piscine !

Wouldn't Return - Average camp site
Review of the campsite
I wouldn't return. It's not awful. But lots of little disappointments.
The Good - Premium Chalet layout is nice. 6 person chalet for 2 adults 2 kids was comfortable.
The Lake and water sports - Really nice addition.
Laser Tag - amazing, great fun, great space and ran by a very nice man who was extremely inclusive. Good value for money.
Clean the pools. Get the chemical levels right to stop Algee growth, regularly clean the indoor pool area Daily.
Improve the shop. Sell more food over toys and clothes, add an automatic coffee machine and a fresh orange juice squeezer.
Train your staff and improve customer service. Give them full knowledge and enthusiasm of the site. Many felt like they didn't care didn't want to be there.
Tired site - mini golf old, table tennis old, arcade old. All run down.
Lack of space - you've crammed pitches everywhere. More space needed for play

Accommodation review - Mobile home - 3 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - Premium
Premium 6 person.
The decking - lovely size deck. Awful decking furniture. Uncomfortable. Add more soft furbashibgs to the decking.
The cost - €300 eur a night for the site, location and quality of amenities it's too high. €150-225 would be more appropriate.

Accommodation review - Grand Confort Pitch - Electricity 16 A - Water - Drainage point -
Pitch was lovely and spacious in the trees very peaceful
Big spacious plot in the trees, nice campsite, bins a long way at the entrance not ideal and the bar area looking old and tired. Expensive for what you got
