15 km south-east of TOULOUSE, the campsite is often a starting point for the Canal du Midi. Located between CASTANET and DONNEVILLE, 1 km from the Canal (Pont de DEYME exit halfway between the Castanet lock and the Montgiscard lock).

Review of the campsite
Site is lovely and staff helpful.
For us the site location is too isolated - particularly if you do not have a bike, and was informed by the staff there wasn’t an option to hire one- so access to surrounding facilities was very limited. Walking wasn’t helped by the lack of footways close to the site and ongoing road works. Also, public transportation into Toulouse was lengthy and convoluted - so much so we didn’t go in. . So we cut short our stay from 7 days to 3 days, and to be fair the site refunded 2 of those days. On reflection we should have researched the site more before booking.

Un arrêt de bus se trouve directement devant l’entrée du camping, avec des lignes permettant de rejoindre Toulouse et les communes environnantes. Cependant, les trajets en transports en commun peuvent nécessiter plusieurs correspondances et être plus longs qu’en voiture.
Concernant la location de vélos, nous vous avions proposé une solution avec un prestataire qui livre et récupère directement les vélos au camping. Vous nous aviez toutefois indiqué avoir déjà réservé des vélos auprès d’un autre prestataire et avez donc décliné cette possibilité.
Il est effectivement dommage que les différentes possibilités de déplacement et la situation du camping n’aient pas été davantage étudiées avant votre réservation, car cela aurait peut-être permis d’éviter cette déception et de mieux adapter votre séjour à vos attentes.

Clean toilet and showers excellent booking system. We used the site for an overnighter on our way south, booked on route on the day, and arrived late and out of hours but the staff took it all in their stride and phoned with instructions which was followed up with an email. All this made our trip much less stressful.

Careful which entrance you use
Review of the campsite
The site was very clean and tidy.
The pitch was nice and big.
The site is close to the Cite for walking in. It takes about 20 mins. Take a torch at night if walking down by the stream.
Went to the bar for a drink and only cost the price of the wine from the shop fridge. They corked the bottle and gave a couple of glasses so cot £7.50.
The only stress was when arriving we went on the wrong entrance when the barrier was broken and there was 5 motorhome waiting and then we were needed to go down to the entrance off the round about. Much easier and a lot less stressful.
Put more signage or warning on the web site to highlight entrance confusion possibilities.

Lovely basic campsite, which accepts pets, good location for exploring the region and cycling the canal du midi. The trees around the campsite provide welcome shade and delay the sun in the mornings. Friendly atmosphere.
The checkin process needs to be streamlined, as there was much delay for new arrivals or those people wanting to purchase items from the small shop.

We’re sorry that check-in took a little longer than usual upon your arrival. During the summer months, several guests may arrive at the same time, which can sometimes lead to a short wait at reception, especially when some guests also wish to make purchases in our souvenir shop. We will of course take your comment into account to make this process as smooth as possible.
Regarding electricity, electrical connections are available on all pitches: you simply need the appropriate adapter. If you don’t have one, we can lend you an adapter free of charge in exchange for a deposit, directly at reception. So please don’t hesitate to come and ask our team, who would have been happy to provide you with a solution.

Dry dirt pitch surrounding by trees, a good size for a tent or two, plus a vehicle. There was a table and chairs for our usage. Pets accepted and there was a walking area not far away.
The he electricity hook up was only for camping cars, so the recharge of phones needed to happen in the bathroom.

Review of the campsite
Les Violettes is a lovely site that was well maintained and clean throughout. Great stop if you are planning to visit Toulouse, easy access to the canal du Midi to cycle in to the city. Sanitation block excellent and clean with quirky decor.
Electricity supply was very temperamental, kept dropping off and on again at odd times of the day throwing my fridge and heating out every time!

However, we’re sorry for the inconvenience you experienced with the electricity supply during your stay. This type of issue can sometimes be linked to a connection or a temporary overload, but we fully understand the inconvenience this may have caused for your fridge and heating. We are always available at reception to respond quickly should this happen again.

Pithes spacious and well segregated with mature hedges. Most are level, we didn’t need chocks!

Heated shower and toilet block so nice when.cooler out of season
Friendly and welcoming
Water pressure was a bit too low for washing hair in the right services block. Last week the left block was open and the pressure was good there.

Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié l’accès facile au camping, sa taille conviviale, la piscine ainsi que les sanitaires chauffés, particulièrement agréables en dehors de la haute saison. C’est également un plaisir de savoir que vous avez trouvé notre équipe accueillante et sympathique.
Merci aussi d’avoir signalé le souci de pression d’eau dans le bloc sanitaire de droite ainsi qu’aux points d’eau des emplacements. Votre remarque est précieuse et nous allons vérifier cela afin d’améliorer encore le confort de nos vacanciers.
