Since 1970, the Familie Heide Baltic Sea Campground in Klein Waabs has stood for quality, warmth, and an authentic Baltic Sea vacation. Spread across approximately 220,000 m², the campground awaits you in the heart of the “Mittel-Schwansen” scenic conservation area on Eckernförde Bay. Our modern restroom facilities, featuring free family shower stalls, regularly receive awards from ADAC, ANWB, and DCC.
Our marked-off campsites come in four different sizes and various locations—whether with a view of the Baltic Sea, water and sewer connections, near the playground, or just a short walk from the restrooms. Almost all campsites feature a paved area in the awning zone. Directly below our cliffs, the approximately 500-meter-long natural and sandy beach invites you to swim, play, and relax.
Our swimming pool and wellness oasis—featuring a bio-sauna, Finnish sauna, and steam room—provide the perfect setting for relaxation. You can book massages and other pampering treatments at the adjacent wellness center. There’s plenty of culinary variety as well: a supermarket, restaurant, pizzeria, snack bar, and beer garden offer something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a light bite or a full meal.
Families in particular can look forward to a huge range of recreational activities. Seven outdoor playgrounds, inflatable cushions, a trampoline area, a summer tubing track, a kids’ roller coaster, a mini-bike track, a pump track, an indoor playground, and our indoor hall with bounce houses, a ship swing, and other attractions make it nearly impossible to get bored. At the Happy Kids Club, kids can do crafts, play, sing, and enjoy plenty of shared adventures. For teens, there’s entertainment, sports activities, beach volleyball, and a DJ booth with a chill-out area, among other things.
There’s plenty going on here in the evenings, too: On our Northern Lights Stage, a varied program of events awaits the whole family. Whether it’s a silent disco, outdoor movie theater, music events, karaoke, quiz shows, theme parties, or many other events—this is where guests of all ages come together to celebrate, laugh, and enjoy wonderful vacation evenings.
Sports fans can burn off some energy playing soccer, basketball, or beach volleyball, try out the interactive goal wall, or use the outdoor fitness equipment, slackline, bocce, and yoga. Diving and surfing lessons, as well as pedal boating on the Baltic Sea, are also part of the offerings. And if the weather isn’t cooperating, the fitness center, exercise room, Camper Lounge, Cinemaxi movie theater, and our indoor activities provide plenty of variety.
Due to our natural terrain with steep cliffs, not all areas of the campground are accessible, and beach access may be difficult for guests with limited mobility. Accessible restroom facilities are available in two restroom buildings. Some recreational, sports, and wellness activities are available for a fee.
